TIFFANY
Veterinary Assistant
Tiffany is currently a veterinary nursing student at Purdue University. She works as a veterinary assistant/RVT Student at VWP and has been in the veterinary field for 12 years. She has loved every step of this journey, even the challenging moments as they have helped shape her into the professional, she is today. She has been with VWP for the past three months.
In addition to her studies at Purdue, she is also pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Health and Behavior at Unity Environmental University. she is wildlife Category I certified as of November 2025 and is currently working toward obtaining her rehabilitation permit. Her experience spans general practice, lab animal medicine, wildlife and exotic medicine, and specialty surgery over the past eight years.
Her primary interests in veterinary medicine include surgery, anesthesia, and wildlife/exotic medicine. She aspires to work in a zoological setting one day. What she loves most about this field is that it offers endless opportunities for learning for both veterinary professionals and clients. She is especially passionate about client education and enjoys helping pet owners better understand their animals’ health, nutrition, and overall well-being. She is also excited to be participating in a study abroad program in Guatemala this June, where she will gain hands-on experience working with wildlife and exotic species.
Tiffany has always known that she wanted to work with animals. Since she was four years old, sh has said that she would become a “doctor for animals,” and she continues to work towards that goal every day. She believes it is important to advocate for animals and to help others understand how valuable and deserving protection all living creatures are.
At home, she has a full and lively animal family. She shares her life with three dogs Sadie (German Shepherd), Ducky (Pug), and Artemis (Belgian Malinois); two cats Sprinkles (tabby) and Cajun (black cat); and three ducks Tairn and Andarna (Khaki Campbells) and Daisy (Pekin). She also has a moon cheek conure named Max and three tarantulas: Cheeto (Mexican Red Knee), Inky, and Void (Brazilian Blacks). She truly loves all animals; even those others may find intimidating, and enjoys educating others about them.
One of her favorite aspects of her role is supporting patients through surgical procedures and educating clients about their pets’ care. She values being there for clients during both joyful and difficult moments, and believes that compassionate communication is just as important as medical care.
Outside of veterinary medicine, she enjoys performing at the Loudonville Ohio Theatre, as well as fishing, camping, hiking, and spending time coaching and supporting her three boys in baseball. A unique fact about her is that she has played the alto saxophone since she was nine years old and continues to play whenever she can. She is also passionate about integrating clinical care, conservation, and environmental awareness within veterinary medicine. Her favorite exotic animal is the tiger, and her favorite domestic breed is the pug.
